The Women’s Development Cell (WDC) is a statutory body to prevent and combat sexual harassment against women. WDC’s primary goal was to investigate complaints from faculty, non-commissioned staff, and students, particularly in the case of gender discrimination.
The Women Development Cell of NIBM College was established in July 2020. From 2020, a separate Internal Complaints Committee has been established for the prevention of and action against sexual harassment of women in the workplace. Now the main function of the Women Development Cell is to promote the general well-being of girl students and teaching and non-teaching women employees of NIBM. As a result, the role of female developmental cells became important.
Objective:
Ø To promote the general well-being of female students and teaching and non-teaching women staff of NIBM.
Ø To create awareness about health and hygiene among girl students.
Ø To create social awareness about the problems of women in general and gender discrimination, in particular, using programs like lectures, workshops, and seminars.
Ø To develop skills among the girl students using workshops and training programs for their overall personality development as well as for the encouragement of self-reliance among them.
Ø To create legal awareness among women by informing them about Women’s Welfare Laws.
