SC/ST Cell 2025-26

The SC/ST Cell of the college was established to empower Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) students, recognized as the most disadvantaged groups in Indian society due to their social, economic, and educational marginalization. The cell focuses on providing support and counseling to these students. The college is dedicated to facilitating financial assistance from government agencies and other sources for SC/ST students. Additionally, students from these communities are encouraged to participate in career orientation programs, which equip them with essential skills for making informed career choices.

Objectives & Functions

  1. Grievance Rectification: Establish procedures to address and rectify grievances of SC/ST students, if any.
  2. Protection and Reservation: Ensure protection and reservation as provided in the Constitution of India.
  3. Follow-Up Measures: Implement follow-up measures to achieve objectives and targets set by the Government of India and UGC.
  4. Safe Environment: Create an environment where students feel safe and secure.
  5. Emotional Counseling: Provide counseling during emotional emergencies.
  6. Career Guidance: Offer career guidance and support in academic work and college-related personal issues.
  7. Career Growth Awareness: Inform students about opportunities for career growth and enhancement.
  8. Scholarship Information: Provide information on various scholarship programs offered by the State Government and UGC.
  9. Employment Information: Keep students informed about employment opportunities announced by the State Government and UGC.
  10. Student Motivation: Motivate students to strive for a better future.
  11. Grievance Handling: Address grievances of students and staff, providing necessary assistance after consulting with the competent authority.
  12. Remedial Coaching: Conduct remedial coaching classes, focusing on life skills, personality development, writing assignments, and making presentations.
  13. Interactive Sessions: Organize interactive sessions and informal meetings to address personal and social problems.
  14. Committee Meetings: The committee meets at least twice a year.
  15. Grievance Redressal: SC/ST/OBC/PWD students can approach the chairman of the cell for redressal of any academic, administrative, or social grievances.
